Director Short Scene Competition Europe

Next week fifty professional directors are gathering in the centre of Europe for a special workshop in THE ADVANCED TOOLS OF DIRECTING. It takes place in Brussels and is hosted by VAF – Vlaams Audiovisueel Fonds (the prime source for all information on audiovisual production in Flanders and Brussels - Belgium). www.vaf.be

Writers on Plotbot are invited to write very short scene that will be read by these professional directors for potential development.

If you are interested in the opportunity to gain European exposure and receive positive feedback from a distinct directing point of view, here is the challenge;

BRIEF: An Interior Scene with two characters who know each other.
TITLE: The Homecoming
· Maximum length is one page.
· Language is English
· Dialogue should be kept to a minimum (just enough to make it real world), at the very maximum four lines for ALL characters.
· No Backstory description should appear on the page.
DEADLINE: Saturday 7th Dec

This is your chance to have 50 directors take a look at your scene.

They will be using a method called Creative Reading that will let them:
· find the character events you have hidden in the scene,
· prepare all the information the actors will need,
· discover the most important moments,
· plan rehearsals for the scene and
· make suggestions for ways the material can be rewritten to better serve their needs as directors.

So if you are interested. Get that page written, and reply with a link here by midnight Saturday.
