Ext. Jefferson's - Night

pendergraftalex504 - on 09/16/2014

Jefferson's is a club for teens. It's outside has neon blue lights on it's sign for the words.

pendergraftalex504 - on 09/16/2014

Int. Jefferson's - Same

pendergraftalex504 - on 09/16/2014

It's not as jammed packed inside as it was over the course of the year. The only ones their are Mark, Jason, Ty, and a three Junior boys and four boys. Jason and Mark sit at the table near the center of the club. Ty sits at the table to the right of theirs. The three of them are waiting for their girlfriends to come back from Macy's house with beer.

Jason

Why are there three of them here with four hot ones.

Mark

Well it must be someone's lucky day.

pendergraftalex504 - on 09/16/2014

Jason

Hey I don't need a girlfriend. I'm saving myself for Trisha.

pendergraftalex504 - on 09/16/2014

Mark

You mean the same Trisha that used to give you private tutoring.

pendergraftalex504 - on 09/16/2014

Jason

Fuck you. hey Ty, when are they supposed to get here?

Ty

How the hell should I know? It wasn't my idea to bring beer to the after party.

Mark

They might've got caught.

Ty

If she did we'd be caught by now. Besides, they're probably stumped on what they want to get out of the wine cabinet.

At the other end of the club at the table closest to the bathrooms, IVY RICHARDS, 14, eavesdrops on the guys.

IVY (V.O.)

They are obviously seniors, and I thought they would have guessed that I was not welcomed into this place like they were. It had nothing to do with any thing I'd done, I'm just too young. I'm not even in high school yet. I will be soon.

pendergraftalex504 - on 09/29/2014

Ivy's POV staring directly at Ty

pendergraftalex504 - on 09/29/2014

IVY (V.O.) (CONT'D)

The one that interests me more is that one with the brown eyes. HE doesn't seem too interested in what his friends are saying. He also gave me a couple glances, but then turned away as if he didn't care about me either.

Mark

Hey Jason can I borrow some change?

pendergraftalex504 - on 09/29/2014

Jason

For what?

pendergraftalex504 - on 09/29/2014

Mark

I'm gonna call them.

pendergraftalex504 - on 09/29/2014

Jason

That's a very brilliant plan. Except for the fact that we'll get them caught.

Ty looks Ivy who is now afraid that he might talk to her. He takes out five quarters from his pocket and drops them on Jason and Marks table. He continues to walk towards Ivy.

Ty

Here go call them.

pendergraftalex504 - on 09/29/2014

Mark picks the quarters up.

pendergraftalex504 - on 09/29/2014

Mark

Do have to pay you back?

Ty

It's a dollar twenty five, Mark. You won't be here tomorrow to pay me back anyway.

pendergraftalex504 - on 09/29/2014

Ty takes a sit at the table where Ivy sits.

pendergraftalex504 - on 09/29/2014

Ty (CONT'D)

You look like you just did something wrong.

pendergraftalex504 - on 09/29/2014

Ivy

Why do you care?

pendergraftalex504 - on 09/29/2014

Ty

I don't know. Why do you keep eyeballing me. I'm already taken.

Ivy

Yet I sense that you have no interest in her whatsoever.

pendergraftalex504 - on 09/29/2014

Ty

Well your wrong.

pendergraftalex504 - on 09/29/2014

Ivy sits back.

pendergraftalex504 - on 09/29/2014

ivy

Okay. But your not interested in what your friends have to say.

pendergraftalex504 - on 09/29/2014

Ty nods his head.

pendergraftalex504 - on 09/29/2014

Ty

Well done. And for that you've earned my name. Ty.

pendergraftalex504 - on 09/29/2014

He extends his hand out to shake hands with her

pendergraftalex504 - on 09/29/2014

Ivy

(Extends her arm) Ivy Moscone.

pendergraftalex504 - on 09/29/2014

They shake hands.

pendergraftalex504 - on 09/29/2014

Ty

You're in middle school.

pendergraftalex504 - on 09/29/2014

ivy

How would you know that?

pendergraftalex504 - on 09/29/2014

Ty

You look young. Tall for an 8th grade which is obviously how you got in here. Yet you fear that you will get ratted out.

pendergraftalex504 - on 09/29/2014

Ivy hesitates to walk away from the table, yet stays.

pendergraftalex504 - on 09/29/2014

Ty (CONT'D)

What's the rush? We were having a nice conversation.

pendergraftalex504 - on 09/29/2014

IVy

As long as you don't rat me out while I'm here.

Ty

That's not really my intention.

pendergraftalex504 - on 10/01/2014

A beat. Ivy adjusts in her seat.

Ivy

SO why do you hang out with them?

pendergraftalex504 - on 10/01/2014

Ty

What do you mean?

pendergraftalex504 - on 10/01/2014

She points at Jason and Mark with her eyes.

pendergraftalex504 - on 10/01/2014

Ivy

You don't seem to be interested in what they have to say at all. So why are you with them?

Ty

I...I was chosen to.

pendergraftalex504 - on 10/01/2014

Ivy (Humorously)

Are you trying to get religous?

pendergraftalex504 - on 10/01/2014

Ty

Not at all. I'm just thinking that you're making assumptions about me.

pendergraftalex504 - on 10/01/2014

Ivy

You looked like you were uninterested in the conversation they were having before.

pendergraftalex504 - on 10/01/2014

Ty

I was actually.

Ivy starts to get annoyed by how he thinks he knows more than her. He feels the same way.

pendergraftalex504 - on 10/01/2014

Ivy

Really? You were listening to their conversation about how when the girls bring the liquor and you guys will drive off into the somewhat warm night in May. And then by the end of the night bang 'em and leave them in the dead of night, like sleazebags.

Ty is surprised.

pendergraftalex504 - on 10/01/2014

Ty

Wow. You really got me good. I'll admit, they are sleazebags. And it scares me how you heard all that from the other side of the club.

pendergraftalex504 - on 10/01/2014

Ivy

Speaking of which, how the hell do you guys consider this place a club? There is no one here.

pendergraftalex504 - on 10/01/2014

Ty

You're on the right track. This place doesn't get many people coming in on Saturdays. On Saturdays or any other day that not many people are here, we get permission from Bruno to stay until 11:00. But he does have to keep the liquor off limits.

Ivy

So this is a bar?

pendergraftalex504 - on 10/01/2014

Ty

(Loudly) There you go. I'm surprised you didn't read the sign outside. Anyway, you should go.

A car honks its horn outside as it parks.

pendergraftalex504 - on 10/01/2014

Ivy

Why?

pendergraftalex504 - on 10/01/2014

Macy enters the bar with excitement.

Macy

Hello boys! Meet tonight's eligible bachelorette's.

pendergraftalex504 - on 10/01/2014

She steps off to the side of the door. Jason and Mark clap.

Ty

That's why. See you around.

pendergraftalex504 - on 10/01/2014

He gets up and walks over to Jason and Marks table.

pendergraftalex504 - on 10/01/2014

PATTY RICE, 18, enters through the door walking as if she is on a runway. The boys applaud her. She waves to Her boyfriend Mark. He winks back at her. She walks off to the side of the door next to Macy.

TRISHA LAWRENCE, 18, enters the room through the door doing the same thing as Patty. They applaud Trisha. Trisha walks over to Patty and stands next to her. Macy walks in front of the door.

Now all six of them clap.

pendergraftalex504 - on 10/02/2014

Macy (CONT'D) (CONT'D)

We will depart in five minutes.

Macy walks over to the bathrooms expecting Ty to follow her. Ty gets up out of his seat. He follows her. Trisha and Patty sit down at the table.

Outside of the bathroom, Ty and Macy have a five second kiss.

Macy

Who was that girl?

pendergraftalex504 - on 10/02/2014

Ty

What girl?

pendergraftalex504 - on 10/02/2014

Macy

The one that you were talking to before. Who is she?

pendergraftalex504 - on 10/02/2014

Ty

Well if you like women should have told me that before.

pendergraftalex504 - on 10/02/2014

Macy

I'm serious, Ty. Are you cheating on me?

pendergraftalex504 - on 10/02/2014

Ty

Oh my god. Your really that paranoid. Wow. I can't believe you. I'm going to need some time.

pendergraftalex504 - on 10/02/2014

Ty walks away from her and heads to the door.

pendergraftalex504 - on 10/02/2014

Macy

Need some time to what?

pendergraftalex504 - on 10/02/2014

Ty

Getaway from you!

pendergraftalex504 - on 10/02/2014

He walks out the door.

pendergraftalex504 - on 10/02/2014

Int. Girls bathroom - Same

pendergraftalex504 - on 10/02/2014

Ivy sits up against the door. She was listening to their conversation the whole time.

pendergraftalex504 - on 10/02/2014

Ext. Parking lot - Same

pendergraftalex504 - on 10/02/2014

Ty leans back on Macy's car thinking about whether he should leave them or not.

pendergraftalex504 - on 10/02/2014

Ty (V.O.)

The truth is I've known these guys since elementary school. At least I knew Jason. Then they all got high on crack and started drinking. I felt pretty ashamed of myself to have hung out with them.

He stands up straight looks back at the bar/club.

pendergraftalex504 - on 10/02/2014

Ty (V.O.) (Cont'd)

SO I did what I thought would best.

pendergraftalex504 - on 10/02/2014

Ty walks out of the parking lot away from the place.

ZOOM OUT as he leaves

pendergraftalex504 - on 10/02/2014

TY (V.O.) (Cont'd) (CONT'D)

I left the place. I later realized that I had left a whole four years of my life at that bar that night.

pendergraftalex504 - on 10/02/2014

Ext. Donovan Rd. - Same

pendergraftalex504 - on 10/02/2014

He walks up the road knowing that he is going absolutely nowhere, because he has nowhere to go.

pendergraftalex504 - on 10/02/2014

Ty (V.O.)

I then realized that I was going in the opposite direction of where home is, or was. Bobby and Jane were probably the best foster parents I had been put with. Now that I'm eighteen, they kicked me out. Jason said he would let me crash at his place for the next three months. But that changed in the events that came later that night. So instead of going to a place that was home I spent the rest of the night on the town.
