Hank (CONT'D)

Well walking to my house in the rain I'm sure there is a good reason.

pendergraftalex504 - on 10/03/2014

Ty

Something has happened.

pendergraftalex504 - on 10/03/2014

Hank steps to the side to let Ty in.

pendergraftalex504 - on 10/03/2014

Hank

Well come in. Tell me about it.

pendergraftalex504 - on 10/03/2014

Ty steps inside. Hank closes the door.

Int. Living room - Later

pendergraftalex504 - on 10/03/2014

Ty sits on the couch with a towel around him. Hank is in the kitchen making himself a cup of coffee.

pendergraftalex504 - on 10/03/2014

Ty

And I just walked away. As if I was never there. The look on his face, it was as though he was an entirely different human being.

pendergraftalex504 - on 10/03/2014

Hank walks into the living with a cup of coffee. He sets down on the coffee table, and sits in the chair next to the couch.

pendergraftalex504 - on 10/03/2014

Hank

It all sounds pretty intense. So why did you come here to talk about it?

pendergraftalex504 - on 10/03/2014

Ty

That's the part that I don't know.

Hank

Well do you have some place to stay.

pendergraftalex504 - on 10/03/2014

Hank drinks his coffee while Ty talks.

pendergraftalex504 - on 10/03/2014

Ty

The person who said he would let me stay at his place for the summer, is now a murderer, and I have an apartment that's waiting for me in Maine. My foster parents are done with me.

Hank sets his cup down.

pendergraftalex504 - on 10/03/2014

Hank

If your asking me to let you stay here--

pendergraftalex504 - on 10/03/2014

Ty

You don't have to. I'll understand. And I'm not trying to guilt trip you or anything here.

pendergraftalex504 - on 10/03/2014

Hank

Why did you come to me?

pendergraftalex504 - on 10/03/2014

A beat.

pendergraftalex504 - on 10/03/2014

Ty

I think you were waiting for someone to come around. I'm sorry that your wife died by the way. I heard about her death a couple months ago, but I never got the chance to give you my condolences.

Hank

And I'm sorry about yours. Anyway why can't you just stay at a motel, or something?

Ty

I could do that, but that would mean losing the money I've been saving for an apartment.

pendergraftalex504 - on 10/06/2014

Hank

Any friends?

pendergraftalex504 - on 10/06/2014

Ty

Two of them is in the hospital, one is in jail and the third is dead. And I don't think it would be very appropriate to be staying with girls who are still living with their parents. I don't have any other friends.

Hank stands up and pastes back and forth behind the chair. He stops thinking and pasting.

Hank

You can stay. Just don't trash the place. Take the guest bedroom.

pendergraftalex504 - on 10/06/2014

Hank walks over to the front door.

pendergraftalex504 - on 10/06/2014

Hank (CONT'D)

Also my suggestion is to take a shower.

pendergraftalex504 - on 10/06/2014

Ty smells himself.

pendergraftalex504 - on 10/06/2014

Ty

Maybe you're right.

pendergraftalex504 - on 10/06/2014

Ty gets up off the couch.

pendergraftalex504 - on 10/06/2014
