Adam is seen walking through the city with a mundane expression in his face. Over everything else, we hear a narration that says:

davidtobayas - on 05/16/2010

ADAM

The city, even with it's tall buildings and massive numbers of people, can be a really lonely place. People who are meant to hold a geniune connection and never get a chance to meet. Faces and faces who will never never share a single breath. And at a certain point, one starts to feel a mundane emptiness, a stabbing void that never seems to end. The problem is, most people find it a solution to simply ignore this sensation and expect the void to fade away. An I can't blame them, sometimes it feels like you want to die and let it all end. But they're wrong, there is a way to have that connection without simply ignoring the piercing emptiness. There is a way to fill the void. However, one can't always keep the thing that makes him full. Because as we all know, all things must come to an end.

It's ten o clock in the morning. Adam is seen walking through the a park and slowly approaches a bench, EXT. As he sits, he realizes that on that same bench where he sits every morning, is a girl about his same age sitting down. He sits on the opposite side of the bench and after some moments of silence, Adam decides to break the silence.

davidtobayas - on 05/17/2010

adam

....um, hi there. Do you come here often?

davidtobayas - on 05/17/2010

The question has no answer from the mysterious girl. For a moment, Adam freezes and has no idea what to say. After a while, he decides to give it another try.

davidtobayas - on 05/17/2010

adam (CONT'D)

Well, this is really awkward don't you agree?

davidtobayas - on 05/17/2010

???

yea...a little

davidtobayas - on 05/17/2010

adam

Well, no need to keep this up. Now let's go again: Do you come here often?

davidtobayas - on 05/17/2010 2 versions.

???

No, not really

davidtobayas - on 05/17/2010

adam

Why is that? Do you live near by or did you just move in? or...?

davidtobayas - on 05/17/2010 2 versions.

???

Oh, no I live here, but not like here. I live over at the other side of the city. I just had a spontaneous day off at work so I thought I'd go explore around.

davidtobayas - on 05/17/2010

adam

Oh...interesting. Well I live near here, walking distance actually. I come here often...really often. It was sort of strange seeing a new face around here, that's all.

davidtobayas - on 05/17/2010 3 versions.

???

oh that's alright. I'm just glad you broke that awkward moment there, hehe.

davidtobayas - on 05/17/2010

adam

Yeah, I mean why do people have to be so awkward around eachother. Just go and say "hi, how are you?" It's not so complicated you know.

davidtobayas - on 05/17/2010

???

Yeah, you're right. Sorry I sort of ignored you there, I just have a thing about talking to strangers

davidtobayas - on 05/17/2010

adam

Yeah...actually so do I. I just like to make ecceptions when a good-looking girl comes along.

davidtobayas - on 05/17/2010

???

Well, eager there aren't we?

davidtobayas - on 05/17/2010

adam

Uh...sorry, didn't mean to seem like some sort of desperate puppy. Just making conversation

davidtobayas - on 05/17/2010

???

It's ok...I sort of like you.

davidtobayas - on 05/17/2010

adam

What? Really? Cause it seems like I-

davidtobayas - on 05/17/2010

???

hahahahahaha! I was joking, silly!

davidtobayas - on 05/17/2010

adam

Oh...well I don't find it particularly funny you know

davidtobayas - on 05/17/2010 2 versions.

???

hahaha, sorry. Well how about this: How about you get to know me before you make a pass at me?

davidtobayas - on 05/17/2010

adam

hmmm...You know, I kinda feel like an idiot right now, you're right. I'm Adam.

davidtobayas - on 05/17/2010

???

Well nice to meet you Adam, you're quite the character...

davidtobayas - on 05/17/2010

???'s phone starts to ring but she doesn't answer

davidtobayas - on 05/17/2010

??? (CONT'D)

Well, I gotta go, thanks for giving me something to laugh about, hehe.

davidtobayas - on 05/17/2010

adam

You're welcome. But uh, how will I get to know you if I never see you?

davidtobayas - on 05/17/2010

???

Let the world take care of that

davidtobayas - on 05/17/2010

adam

...ok

davidtobayas - on 05/17/2010

??? begins to leave but as she does Adam screams one last thing

davidtobayas - on 05/17/2010

adam (CONT'D)

Hey! What's your name?

davidtobayas - on 05/17/2010

???

Oh My God, I'm so sorry, that was totally unfair. I'm Trish.

davidtobayas - on 05/17/2010 2 versions.

adam

haha, Good to know.

davidtobayas - on 05/17/2010

Trish

Well, gotta go. I'll see you around!

davidtobayas - on 05/17/2010

adam

I'll see you too...

three days pass and adam can't seem to meet up or find trish. finally, on his way home he decides to pass through his usual spot and sees trish sitting there. To adam's surprise, she seems sad, stripped of all the joy she had last time he saw her. Adam decides to approach her slowly and, like the first day, sits on the opposite side of the bench.

davidtobayas - on 05/17/2010

adam

Hey there. Long time no talk huh?

davidtobayas - on 05/17/2010

Trish remains silent. And for a moment there is a piercing silence that goes deep into the heart of both Adam and Trish.

davidtobayas - on 05/17/2010 3 versions.

adam (CONT'D)

Well, we did agree on getting to know ourselves better. And, and it looks like you need some support right now. So maybe you can talk about what's bothering you and that way you can feel better. So, can you tell me what's wrong

davidtobayas - on 05/17/2010 2 versions.

Trish

I...I don't wanna talk about it.

davidtobayas - on 05/17/2010

adam

Well I understand that it's hard to share with someone you just met three days ago, but I think we're way past random strangers don't you agree?

davidtobayas - on 05/17/2010

trish

I just don't wanna talk about it ok

davidtobayas - on 05/17/2010

adam

Is it really so bad that you can share?

davidtobayas - on 05/17/2010

Trish

Look, I just don't want to fill you with all of my issues

davidtobayas - on 05/17/2010

adam

Issues, what issues?

davidtobayas - on 05/17/2010

Trish

Stop, I just can't stand talking about that without bursting into a horrible mess so please, stop asking. I just don't wanna talk about it.

davidtobayas - on 05/17/2010

Adam

Alright, I'm sorry...

davidtobayas - on 05/18/2010 2 versions.

Trish

I'm just really having a hard time right now and I haven't found anyone that can remotely give any sensible support, it's ridiculous.

davidtobayas - on 05/18/2010

adam

Well, you know, even if the world is filled with crap and we're all alone in a corner, well...we have eachother.

davidtobayas - on 05/18/2010

Trish

wow...smooth

davidtobayas - on 05/18/2010

adam

No, I mean, there's like a million individuals out there who could have chance encounters like ours but simply never will. And I mean, I'd say that two random individuals that meet off the bat and don't hate eachother or part ways after the first word is pretty lucky. Specially if they can share witty comments that both find interesting. So in the midst of that huge cement cage, we have eachother.

davidtobayas - on 05/18/2010

Trish

heh, yeah...

davidtobayas - on 05/18/2010

There is yet another moment of silence before Trish finally breaks it

davidtobayas - on 05/18/2010 2 versions.

trish (CONT'D)

Could you, just stay here for a while. I know you probably have to go soon but, I dunno, I like having you around. It's a different experience

davidtobayas - on 05/18/2010

adam

Besides, how would I get a chance to meet you again if I just leave?

davidtobayas - on 05/18/2010

Trish

hehehe, you idiot

davidtobayas - on 05/18/2010

Trish's expression goes from slighly joyful to really sad as she begins to cry. Adam, after a moment, moves to Trish's side of the bench and holds her as she cries in his shoulder. Hours pass and finally, Trish's tears stop.

davidtobayas - on 05/18/2010

Trish (CONT'D)

I should really go...

davidtobayas - on 05/18/2010

adam

Alright, want me to walk you home?

davidtobayas - on 05/18/2010

Trish

Not yet, Casanova

davidtobayas - on 05/18/2010

adam

haha, alright then. Well, I'll be seeing you then.

davidtobayas - on 05/18/2010

Trish

Hey wait...

davidtobayas - on 05/18/2010

adam

Yeah?

davidtobayas - on 05/18/2010

trish

You know, I feel kinda bad for making you stay here all afternoon.

davidtobayas - on 05/18/2010

adam

Nah, it's alright

davidtobayas - on 05/18/2010

Trish

No, unfortunately I feel the urge to have to see you again. How about we meet here tomorrow, say 12:00?

davidtobayas - on 05/18/2010

adam

Alright, sounds good. I'll see you then

davidtobayas - on 05/18/2010

Trish

And hey, don't leave me waiting, cause I like you, and It would suck if you do that. You don't wanna come out like a jerk on a first date.

davidtobayas - on 05/18/2010 2 versions.

adam

I wouldn't dream of it. See you then.

davidtobayas - on 05/18/2010

Trish

About time...

davidtobayas - on 05/18/2010

adam

Sorry, am I late?

davidtobayas - on 05/18/2010

trish

Nah, I'm just busting your balls

davidtobayas - on 05/18/2010

adam

davidtobayas - on 05/18/2010

trish

davidtobayas - on 05/18/2010
