ext. street in front of a small house

bschulz3 - on 09/26/2013 4 versions.

The camera shows a gray, tidy, two-story house in a clearing. Two windows on either side of the front door are trimmed with black shutters and illuminated from the inside. The front yard contains a flower bed and a few tall, scattered trees. A blue bicycle leans against the side of the house, and a soccer ball rests on the ground next to the front steps. In the background, the sun is just beginning to set. The sounds of clattering dishes are heard coming from inside.

Mrs. Rylan

Honey, about soccer, I've been meaning to tell you something. Look, I know how much you love it, and I'm proud of you for working so hard this summer. You really have improved, but...I'm not sure that you're going to be able to play this year.

Mrs. Rylan

Your coach moved practice all the way across town to the North Field. That's an extra hour every day that I would have to spend driving you there and picking you up, and, with your father going on so many business trips, I have a lot more to do around here. I'm sorry, but I just don't think we have time for soccer this season.

No. Again, I'm sorry, but it's decided. You are not playing soccer this year. It'd just make our schedules too complicated. You are going to stay home and help out around here and focus more on your homework--
