Quick pitch

JC and Ama were on the last refugee ship out of their world's system. War destroyed everything they left behind. They crash land out at sea but are rescued by the Coast Guard who have no idea that they're anything more than a group of vacationers who were shipwrecked. They move to New York where a small but tight-knit community of their kind has already been established. Unfortunately, most of the refugee ships were piloted by pirates and other violent characters out for money and power. JC, an ex-soldier, struggles to protect Ama and her strange powers from the natives and to protect the natives from his countrymen. It's a tall order but in New York City, anything is possible.

It's a very long, brightly-lit, white hallway with many doors that the GIRL is pulled out into. She hugs her rescuer and brother, JC, sobbing. JC is a SOLDIER with cropped hair, military fatigues and a worried but serious face. He holds her at arms length and gives his sister a once-over. There are people spilling out into the hallway, most confused and panicked, streaming past the two.

Another shockwave hits. The announcement and alarms fade out as the girl seems to be frozen in fear and screams silently amid the chaos. A CRASH as the mirror shatters and falls.
