Quick pitch

An interview with Lex Luthor about both Superman and Batman. Takes place before the first Superman and Batman films in my universe. This is going to be a mock-interview, mirroring a 60 minutes style interview that is condensed to about 10 minutes, more of a short tie-in that the Daily Planet plans to run on a weekday evening for some desperate attention. This introduction to Lex shows him as an intelligent, collected and successful, yet painfully self-absorbed and showered in pride. Luthor covers his views on Superman, who he fears and believes is a threat, and how he sees Batman as nothing but a joke.

Oh, and Ron, keep in mind men with manifestos don’t wear their casual tie to an "interview".

If justice is going to survive in the new global economy, we have to get better, invest in new disruptive technologies, even if that means opening up Pandora’s Box. Who has the resources to do it? The government? No; the only thing holding them together is a layer of untouchable red tape, nobody's allowed to shut them down anyway, they run the show, even though they shouldn't. Vigilantes like the Batman? Not unless they have access to vast amounts of untold riches.

What does this have to do with Superman being dangerous?

Yes, politics. Well, if my prior statement matches these politicians' rhetoric, then perhaps I should pay attention to these doormats and their elections. Hell, I may want to back a few of them, maybe even defeat them.
