It is a courtroom, with the judge's podium U. The defense and prosecution tables are in front of the podium, UL and UR. Seated at the defendant's table are GEOFF, a man in his late twenties, and his lawyer, MARTIN, a man in his early fifties. Seated at the prosecutor's table are LAUREY, a fifteen-year-old girl, along with her parents, NICHOLAS and CARMEN, and their lawyer, BETH STEIN, also in her fifties.
