He is running down the street, obviously trying to get somewhere out of the rain. He runs by an abandoned building. He stops for a second then squints to see through the rain.
He looks around for a second, drenched in water. He then runs to another door and runs up a set of stairs. He reaches a hallway at the top of the steps.
He walks down the hallway slowly. He is looking around cautiously. When he gets to the end of the hallway he walks in the door of what seems to be a bedroom.
The boy looks around. It is safe. Then he runs to a corner and takes off the coat he had on. Then he takes off his shirt and pants, revealing dirty boxers.
He goes to a closet and opens it cautiously. Then he pulls out a dirty T-shirt and a pair of ripped jeans. He puts the stuff on then pulls out a backpack.
He takes out a cracker and tries to bite it but it is obviously stale. He bites it harder and breaks a piece off. Then he begins chewing it in disgust.
He swallows it in pain and begins to cough. Then he spits some blood out of his mouth and picks up the water bottle. He then opens it and takes miniscule sips, to save it.
Just then, there is the sound of deep, idiotic laughter from somewhere at the steps to the hallway. Joshua notices and hurries into the closet, leaving his clothes and food.
Just as he closes the closet door, three men in black leather coats walk in, a bit wet but not drenched. The skinny man, named GRUDGE, 20's is carrying a duffel bag. The burliest man, TANK, late 30's is carrying a shotgun by the door, a bodyguard.
The other man, obviously leader from his sly state, lights a cigar. This is PABLO, late 20's. He smacks the overly excited Grudge in the head and he sets down the duffel bag.
Then Tank goes over with his shotgun to the door. He cautiously looks at the door. Then he swings it open, gun trained. Joshua is sitting in the corner scared out of his mind.
Tank shakes his head 'no'. Then he turns to the boy who is crying now. He picks up his shotgun and looks at the kid sympathetically. He slowly pulls back his finger on the trigger.
Screenplays are composed of three types of elements: slugline, action, and dialogue.
Sluglines define the location the scene (i.e. INT. CAFE - NIGHT), actions explain what will happen onscreen, and dialogue is what the characters will say.
The screenwriting flow is simple. To edit an element, click on it. To create a new element, click at the bottom of the screenplay or click into an element and press ENTER.
The default element is an action. You can convert it to a dialogue element by pushing TAB. Push TAB again, and you'll convert the element to a slugline.
When an element is editable, you'll see the background color change to yellow. To save your changes push ENTER, TAB, or click out of the field.
