DYLAN leans back in a metal folding chair, balancing a straw on his nose. His mouth is slightly open, rapt in concentration, and his eyes are crossed as he focuses on the straw.

His co-workers--AMALIA, MAYA, CATE, and MALCOLM lounge in hard plastic chairs, watching.

Dylan wobbles in his chair, barely managing to keep it from toppling.

Cate fusses with the cellophane on a pack of cigarettes for a moment until Malcolm yanks them from her hands and makes an elaborate show of pulling the red tab. He throws the pack back at Cate with a mock sneer.

Cate begins to light up.

Maya makes a face at Cate. Cate pulls on her cigarette, apparently unconcerned.

Dylan's straw teeters--he scratches his chair across the floor trying to keep the balance, but smashes into the counter. The straw falls; he picks it up off of the ground and begins again.

Dylan shrugs. The room falls silent again.

The door swings open, and CALEB--26, white short sleeve shirt with tie--confidently bursts in, clipboard in hand, stupid smile on his face. MALLORY, 25--could be pretty if it wasn't for too much makeup and ill-fitting power suit--strides alongside him.

As if on cue, Lincoln enters and quickly shuffles to a seat in the corner. Long-haired and lanky, you can barely see his face. He mumbles an unintelligible excuse.

Cate grimaces.

Maya yawns exaggeratedly.

Caleb pauses, appearing to give the floor to Mallory, before jumping right back in.

Malcolm and Amalia trade looks as Malcolm mouths the words "His girlfriend Mallory?" with disdain.

Malcolm is taken aback by Caleb's uncanny ability to have an eye on everything in the room.

He smiles smugly.

He walks over to Malcolm.

He smiles wickedly at Malcolm, leaning in close to him.

Caleb straightens and paces the room.

Mallory steps forward, launching into an obviously prepared speech.

The crew looks at her skeptically.

The crew could care less. Cate raises her hand.

Mallory narrows her eyes.

Mallory clucks her tongue disapprovingly.

Cate makes a face. Mallory gestures to the door, and two attractive models, DINA and NICOLE, 20's, walk in. They're dressed like airline stewardesses from the 60's--short, tight-fitting dresses in bright pastel colors.

The boys immediately perk up as they enter the room. Amalia "tsks", disgusted.

Malcolm glares at Caleb.

Mallory tries to continue.

Mallory's pissed, and gives a tight little smile at Caleb, who's oblivious.

Malcolm throws his hands up in mock excitement as Caleb and Mallory leave the room.

Caleb walks back in the room to catch Malcolm with his hands in the air.

Caleb looks at Malcolm with a fixed, false smile.

Malcolm stares back at Caleb, silently, but his eyes seethe with hatred.

Customers enter the store and the clerks go to work. An obese woman with a small child toddling after her, waddles up aisle 7 and pauses infront of the samplers.
